@Kermit
I hear you, but sometimes the old fighters are just really skilled and the prospects are unduly hyped up. Plus, if the absence of USADA means easier doping, then young prospects are likely also taking advantage of the opportunity

- Mateusz Rebecki more so looked terrible, so a not completely washed CDF was able to take advantage
- Sodiq gassed terribly after 10-8'ing Barboza in rd1
- Aldo is probably the worst stylistic matchup in the division for Martinez. Barring extreme body changes beyond the norm for a 37 year old athlete, it would be hard for him to lose that fight.

Predictions: 9 of 12 Winners, 4 Perfect, 600 Points   |   Tied for 709th

Hill vs. Pinheiro
Angela Hill, DEC
Hill may be pushing 40, but she's showed no signs of slowing down. Speaking of slowing down, that's exactly what Luana does as the fight goes on. She may have success early, but as the fight goes on she's going to tire and Hill will use her muay thai and experience to point her way to a decision win. This one will probably be razor thin with the 2nd round being the decider in a split decision.

Nolan vs. Martinez
Tom Nolan, TKO, R1
I don't trust Nolan, but I trust someone who was knocked out by Leavitt a hell of a lot less. This looks like a layup matchup setup by the UFC to get Nolan's hypetrain back on the rails.

Sy vs. Tokkos
Oumar Sy, TKO, R2
I honestly don't know much about Tokkos, but from the tape I watched on Sy he looks like a good prospect at 205. He beats up on Tokkos for a round then finds the ground and pound finish in round 2 letting everyone know he's arrived.

Vidal vs. Gatto
Melissa Gatto, DEC
Gatto is on a 2 fight skid, but both of those losses were to ranked opponents and her fight against Lipski was extremely competitive. Vidal beat a can in her debut then lost to a mediocre Rendon. Vidal is aggressive, but Gatto is better everywhere and I honestly think she could win this fight by KO, SUB, or DEC. It's WMMA though, so this likely goes the distance and she takes a dominant decision putting the rest of 135 on notice.

the last time Angela Hill lost by anything but a decision was in Mar 2019.  She is a tough fighter that never figured out how to stay away from the judges.  They never give her the edge in these close fights.

Prediction Comments

Predictions: 9 of 12 Winners, 3 Perfect, 580 Points   |   Tied for 942nd

Barboza vs. Murphy
Edson Barboza, DEC
murphy can win this if he mixes things up, but i'm not sure he's gonna commit enough to get into the desired range. who knows though, maybe his boxing will land.

Williams vs. Harris
Khaos Williams, TKO, R2
really hard time picking this one. i think harris can win if he's surgical and times some td's, but i'm not sure i trust him to do that and khaos is gonna come with the volume.

Brahimaj vs. Gorimbo
Themba Gorimbo, DEC
add gillmore to the "i don't value this win" list. ramiz is coming in off a decent layoff so i don't feel confident saying he can push a td heavy gameplan.

Yanez vs. Salvador
Adrian Yanez, DEC
as i said lower in the card, i don't value wins over ross. i'm not ready to write yanez off yet, martinez and font are top guys. i think he'll play it a little safer here.

Hill vs. Pinheiro
Angela Hill, DEC
feels like a favorable matchup for hill, luana isn't an overpowering wrestler nor does she come with as much volume.

Nolan vs. Martinez
Tom Nolan, TKO, R1
easy to see why this is a popular pick, getting tko'd by leavitt isn't a good look, but nowhere near a slam dunk.

Sy vs. Tokkos
Oumar Sy, TKO, R1
sy was booked against bellato initially and is coming off wins over 2 former ufc fighters plus ksw experience, definitely gonna take him over the replacement.

Vidal vs. Gatto
Melissa Gatto, DEC
higher quality of competition along with seemingly more options in the stylistic matchup itself.

Magomedov vs. Alves
Abus Magomedov, TKO, R2
i like the consensus here. warlley has shown flashes of previous potential, but i'm not comfortable burning a pick on it because abus has seen decent competition prior to the ufc and can finish fights too.

Rodriguez vs. Carnelossi
Piera Rodriguez, DEC
gonna be a question of how well piera can manage ariane's aggression and how early she can force the grappling.

Alatengheili vs. Rodrigues
Alatengheili, DEC
i'm gonna take a chance here because i simply don't value wins over shannon ross and after the scale issues this will be kleydson's 135 debut against someone who was just in there with one of the better bw's. kleydson tends to win by early finishes, but heili tends to make it to decision unless he himself finds the finish.

Ducote vs. Demopoulos
Emily Ducote, DEC
i think the odds are way too wide, but i'm still gonna take ducote's consistent volume instead of hoping vanessa can really push her td game and create scrambles.

Zen New Predictions

Predictions: 9 of 12 Winners, 3 Perfect, 525 Points   |   Tied for 1862nd

Yanez vs. Salvador
I embrace Adrian Yanez at -425. He has an original diet. Yanez will likely outsmart the counteragent.

Barboza vs. Murphy
I choose Lerone Murphy at -150. He has a ultimate lumberjack sweep and a cybernetic mentality. Murphy must drain the dissentient.

Williams vs. Harris
I select Khaos Williams at -130. He has a zippy dim mak. Williams ought to damage the natural order.

Ducote vs. Demopoulos
I want Emily Ducote at -375. She has a maladapted kouchi gari. Ducote will likely capture the deed.

Alatengheili vs. Rodrigues
I predict Kleydson Rodrigues at -150. He has an integral tai otoshi. Rodrigues must land the opposition.

Vidal vs. Gatto
I love Melissa Gatto at -340. She has a hot powerbomb. Gatto will quarantine the canvas.

Hill vs. Pinheiro
I am obsessed with Angela Hill at -145. She has a leaden osoto gari. Hill shall grind the adversary. Obey my dog!

Rodriguez vs. Carnelossi
I feel disposed to Piera Rodriguez at -225. She has an obscene crotch-hold. Rodriguez ought to negate the deed.

Brahimaj vs. Gorimbo
I have got Themba Gorimbo at -145. He has a radioactive vulcan nerve pinch. Gorimbo must handle the crowd noise.

Nolan vs. Martinez
I desire Tom Nolan at -500. He has a meritorious back mount. Nolan must prove the underdog.

Sy vs. Tokkos
I choose Oumar Sy at -455. He has a final crucifix. Sy ought to boil the cutman.

Magomedov vs. Alves
I prefer Abus Magomedov at -275. He has an egregious indian deathlock. Magomedov is gonna realign the previous pitfalls.

Predictions: 9 of 12 Winners, 4 Perfect, 600 Points   |   Tied for 709th

Barboza vs. Murphy
Edson Barboza, TKO, R3
Another tough fight to call. This is a huge jump up in competition for Murphy. Barboza will be the most dangerous and experienced guy he's faced by far. Barboza likely holds the speed and power advantage here and that's why I'm taking him. The thing that scares me is Barboza is 38 years old and hittable, especially early on. Sodiq 10-8ed him in the first and even Billy Q was able to do some damage before being finished. Murphy isn't anything special when it comes to punching power though, so I think Barboza can weather that early storm, find his range, and eventually find a finish of his own. I have a sneaky feeling leg kicks are going to be a big factor in this one. We haven't seen them from Barboza in a while, but Murphy is heavy on that lead leg and we all know Barboza has some of the nastiest kicks in the history of the UFC.

Williams vs. Harris
Khaos Williams, DEC
Not feeling too confident in this one, but it ultimately comes down to Harris not having great takedowns and Williams having pretty good takedown defense. If this fight stays standing Williams should have the advantage, but the threat of the takedown could make things close on the feet. Both guys are dangerous in their own way, but I think this one makes it to the judges and Khaos takes a close DEC.

Brahimaj vs. Gorimbo
Themba Gorimbo, DEC
Everyone is on Gorimbo here, but Brahimaj can definitely win this fight. He's a dangerous grappler and Themba has invited grappling exchanges in his past fights. If it wasn't for the injury and long layoff I'd probably be on the Brahimaj side here. I'm going to take Gorimbo though. He's going to have the physical advantages and advantage on the feet. As long as he can keep Brahimaj off of his neck he can either find the KO or grind out a tough DEC.

Yanez vs. Salvador
Adrian Yanez, TKO, R1
Yanez has failed both times he's tried to enter the rankings, but this is a HUGE step back in competition for him. Vinicius is barely UFC level. He throws a bunch of wild **** and is fun to watch, but he's extremely hittable and Yanez is going to be WAY too technical for him. Yanez finds his range and lands some sick boxing combinations to get the TKO in the 1st or 2nd.
