I don't know why he said East Indian either, but I'm not sure that it is offensive in any way. Please both of you just take it easy.

I in no way mean to be offensive when I say this, but I have hypothesized that part of the reason Indians aren't very athletic in the traditional sense is due to the fact that almost half of the country subscribes to a vegan or vegetarian diet. This leads to a lack of branched chain amino acids in the diet, which many Indians might only otherwise be getting from milk consumption. It's difficult to get the proper amount of BCAA into your diet if you don't eat any meat (your body cant produce BCAA). It's not impossible, but it's definitely difficult. I think some of it is obviously cultural too. Hinduisum, Jainism and Buddhism are all spiritual practices with non-violence as a central pillar.

When I say non-athletic in the traditional sense, I'm not just talking MMA either. Just look at all time Olympic gold medals between China and India (comparable population sizes).

China: 285 gold medals
India: 10 gold medals

Chinas meat consumption is ahead of many Western nations and is only just behind the US. They consume more than a 1/4 of the meat produced in the entire world.

@foppa420
I was thinking that too, lack of meat in their diet results in a lack of power, hard to develop good strenght and conditioning and strong physicality when your diet is limited. I remember reading a comment from a former ufc fighter online that he said when he switched his diet to vegetaria  or when he stopped eating meat he noticed a massive decrease in his power overall, I think it was a canadian fighter I cant remember his name off the top of my head, but to your point, the lack of amino acids and diet from Indian fighters probably plays a strong factor in Indian mma developing physically imposion talent.

When it comes to meat consumption, it really depends on region to region, Gujarat and Rajasthan two states have very low meat consumption, meanwhile most southern and north eastern states have very high meat consumption rate regardless of religion of a person, also mostly North Indian Hindus who consume meat mostly eat chicken or rarely Mutton or sea food which, but I agree in such a physical sport as MMA having such a limited diet definetly hinders their limit
