  1. 1

    Angela "Overkill" Hill
    Angela Hill
    "Overkill"
    17-13-0
    1985 - USA - UFC

Probably the main gatekeeper of strawweight at this point of her career. Getting on the older side but still actually seems to be improving a bit. Who would have thought she'd main event two UFC shows early in her career? Always comes to fight and put a lot of volume out there. Takedown defence getting very good, she's also able to pick up on judo throws and balance herself to avoid them which is important in WMMA. Getting somewhat of an offensive cage wrestling game going, good head position in the clinch. Very tough and hardly ever gets finished despite fighting ranked girls pretty much her whole UFC career.

Still improving in her late 30's which is cool.
  2. 2

    "The Tiny Tornado" Tecia Pennington
    Tecia Pennington
    "The Tiny Tornado"
    13-7-0
    1989 - USA - UFC

Looked fine in her comeback fight against Baby Shark and I thought she really should have got a comfortable decision. Speed and combination punching still there, no power but plenty of volume, maybe didn't throw as many spinning kicks as she used to. Takedown defence against the cage looked excellent, really good at posting on hand when tilted, but got stuck there a little bit too long which must have swayed the judges.
  3. 3

    Tabatha "Baby Shark" Ricci
    Tabatha Ricci
    "Baby Shark"
    10-2-0
    1995 - Brazil - UFC

When she's not posting pictures on Instagram that seem to come from convenient angles to show off her arse, Tabatha is a pretty skilled fighter inside the cage. Came to the UFC with very few pro MMA fights under her belt and had to immediately fight Manon Fiorot a weight division up, so couldn't have had a much tougher start. Looked good back at her natural weight class where her high level BJJ is making her hard work for other girls. Making it a habit of shutting down girls who have good BJJ for MMA with better fundamental jiu jitsu. Takedowns need a bit of work, good at controlling time against the cage but struggled to get Tecia down.
  4. 4

    Iasmin Lucindo
    Iasmin Lucindo
    16-5-0
    2002 - Brazil - UFC

Made her debut at 15 years old which is some Muay Thai ****. Incredible amount of experience for someone her age because of that. Very strong and athletic if a bit on the short side. She's a good top grappler and has a good variety of trips to off balance girls and then dominate them from the top. Striking is coming on, but was fairly competitive on the feet against a good striker in Jauregui.
  5. 5

    Luana Pinheiro
    Luana Pinheiro
    11-3-0
    1993 - Brazil - UFC

She's got very pretty judo throws, I do like the way she sends girls flying with those. Seems to be finding they don't work so well at the top level. Striking is a bit one at a time, has a hard overhand that she tries to set up and slings. Struggles to keep up in high paced fights and can be wrestled down by girls who can avoid her judo.
  6. 6

    Piera "La Fiera" Rodriguez
    Piera Rodriguez
    "La Fiera"
    9-2-0
    1992 - Venezuela - UFC

Came in with good momentum as LFA champ but has struggled to stay active in the UFC. A couple of solid wins before having her grappling exposed a bit by Gillian, but that's a high level grappler. She's nice and aggressive and gets pressure on and throws a lot on the feet, decent double leg and nice front kick to the face. Also probably the most consistently pissed off looking fighter in the division. Was beating Carnelossi pretty handily before deciding to headbutt her for some reason.
  7. 7

    Karolina Kowalkiewicz
    Karolina Kowalkiewicz
    16-8-0
    1985 - Poland - UFC

Was undergoing something of a career renaissance but her run of wins was against pretty low level competition by UFC standards so perhaps a little overrated at the moment having somehow found her way back into the UFC rankings. Bit of a reality check against Lucindo, where she showed toughness but couldn't get off against a young hungry contender.
  8. 8

    Natasha "Kuzya" Kuziutina
    Natasha Kuziutina
    "Kuzya"
    5-1-0
    1989 - Russia - LFA Interim Champion

Olympic silver medallist Judoka who's developing very quickly as an MMA fighter. Ran into Fatima Kline early in her career but there's no shame in losing that. She's stayed very active and worked her way to the LFA title scene very quickly by taking fights anywhere she can. Obviously she's very hard to take down and can throw girls around herself. Has the usual judo scarfhold, armbars stuff on top and looks like she's trying to round out the jits game. Stays busy on the feet and can outhustle girls there due to Olympic work ethic basically.

Looks as if she has the option to choose where the fight takes place at least up to a certain level which is a powerful tool to have.
  9. 9

    Vanessa "Lil Monster" Demopoulos
    Vanessa Demopoulos
    "Lil Monster"
    11-5-0
    1988 - USA - UFC

Master of getting bad decisions then jumping into Michael Bisping's arms is a good grappler but doesn't really have a way to get it there usually, she's good from the bottom if people decide to take her down. No striking defence to speak of but she's tough and she's aggressive. Pushes forward constantly and throws very good volume, mixing in a few leg kicks now and throws everything as hard as she can, striking offence does seem to be getting better. Solid cardio to keep that up for the full 15.
  10. 10

    Emily "Gordinha" Ducote
    Emily Ducote
    "Gordinha"
    13-9-0
    1994 - USA - UFC

Former Invicta champ is a solid middle of the pack girl in a big promotion. Has sharp counters down the middle with tight punches but gets hit a fair bit herself while doing it. Fights at the pace of her opponent too much and could do a lot more to separate herself. Takedown defence is solid, so going to be tough for a wrestler with bad striking to get a lot done against her.

  12. 11

    Yasmin GuimarĂ£es
    Yasmin GuimarĂ£es
    8-1-0
    1995 - Brazil - LFA

Absolutely massive now she's cutting to strawweight. Very strong for the weight, able to muscle girls around in the clinch and get trips pretty easily. Hard for shorter fighters to get inside her, some good body kicks and strikes. Could probably do more damage and did slow down a bit in the 3rd but that's to be expected with a big cut.
  13. 12

    Mallory Martin
    Mallory Martin
    9-6-0
    1994 - USA - Oktagon

I think Mallory has improved since leaving the UFC. She's developed a decent 1,2 down the middle, she's a bit repetitive with throwing it but she's fast enough with it and she finds the target pretty well. She's got decent at range management and keeps het guard high and is fairly defensively okay. Has a decent body lock trip but takedowns not entirely reliable.
  14. 13

    Ariane "Sorriso" Carnelossi
    Ariane Carnelossi
    "Sorriso"  |  15-3-0
    1992 - Brazil - UFC

Jacked as **** but I don't think she's as strong as she looks. Puts pressure on most of the time, throws a lot of arm punch flurries but wants to go second, takedown defence not great. Doesn't do well on the back foot. Snuck away with a win against Piera after being headbutted but the fight hardly looked like it was going her way.
  15. 14

    Aleksandra Savicheva
    Aleksandra Savicheva
    6-1-0
    1999ish - Russia - Octagon

Looks good. Has a very nice jab which she paws at her opponents face with and then unleashed it harder at times. Tough to get inside. Good leg kicks help her manage distance too. Brings cross through hard sometimes when she sees the opportunity. Controls pace of the fight well. Has a sub loss previously but TDD seems to be improving, uses knees well in the clinch when opponents try and grab hold of her. Lot of potential here I think.
  16. 15

    Xiaocan Feng
    Xiaocan Feng
    9-2-0
    2001 - China - Happy Elephant Champion

Tall girl who's got a really good 1-2 that she bangs down the pipe pretty hard. Solid enough looking grappling on top, able to get some damage off. Has an ugly loss to Na Liang on her record but she was like 18 at the time. She's been beating girls with solid records in China so she's not record padding and that showed in her Road to UFC debut although her opponent was absolutely tiny and frankly horrible. Looks as though she has potential though so I'm interested in seeing how she progresses through the tournament. Looks like probably the early favourite according to my eye test.
  17. 16

    Ayan Tursyn
    Ayan Tursyn
    6-0-0
    1994 - Kazakhstan - Octagon

Decent striking, launches herself into punches pretty well and lands some decent hooks. Tendency is to grapple and she can generally get girls down eventually although not that explosive there. She's got decent top control and back takes. Pretty low level of competition and could do with getting some fights in UAE Warriors or somewhere before looking to a big promotion.
  18. 17

    Naizi "Malvada" Cantanhede
    Naizi Cantanhede
    "Malvada"  |  7-1-0
    1998 - Brazil - LFA

Good performance in upset win over Lany Silva but really struggled with the physicality and size of Guimaraes. Takedown defence wasn't good enough to deal with her and seems she'll struggle with good strong wrestlers, struggled to get off her back when down, threw up some loose subs but that's about it. Doesn't hit hard enough to keep big girls off her.
  19. 18

    Julieta "The Ninja Ferret" Martinez
    Julieta Martinez
    "The Ninja Ferret"  |  7-0-0
    2004 - Argentina - Samurai Fight House

Extremely talented youngster who looks very fast on the feet and gets her kicks up really well and also has explosive grappling with some good subs. Finishes the vast majority of the low level girls she's faced so far and looks to have great potential.
  20. 19

    Gabriela "Gabi" Fujimoto
    Gabriela Fujimoto
    "Gabi"  |  5-0-0
    2003 - Brazil - LFA

Top prospect out of KO squad. Very poised on the feet, keeps range she wants well while coming forward. Good feints to keep opponent confused, pretty accurate punching, good level changes, top control good when she gets there and does throw ground and pound. Looked pretty calm when being fired on and looked calm when she lost her back briefly. Needs a slight step up in competition, but probably only a couple of fights away from an LFA title fight.
  21. 20

    Aieza Bertolso
    Aieza Bertolso
    3-0-0
    2001 - Brazil - LFA

Two time IMMAF champ hasn't really been killing low level comp yet. Good grappler and controls positions well. Looks like she has striking but output a bit too low at the moment. Tall for weight. Will probably get better as she develops in the pros.
  22. 21

    Sofiia Bagishvili
    Sofiia Bagishvili
    10-6-0
    1999 - Georgia - Octagon

Settled into a role as a bit of a European journeywoman. Capable of pulling off the occasional decent win like when she beat Bekus but most prospects seem to beat her. She is a decent grappler with some decent judo, struggles to get inside against bigger girls as her striking isn't very good and has to lunge to close the distance.
  23. 22

    Anita Bekus
    Anita Bekus
    7-5-0
    1990 - Poland - Oktagon

Strong girl but a little bit limited. If she can get on top of someone she's fine though. Striking wise she wings her punches a bit too much and her striking defence against straight punches is poor. Can be tripped by more technical wrestlers in the clinch but pretty decent get ups. Solid gatekeeper type girl overall, although the win over Sormova is likely to be the highlight of her career I think.
  24. 23

    Camila Reynoso
    Camila Reynoso
    3-0-0
2002 - Argentina - Samurai Fight House Champion

Has the physical tools you look for in a fighter, much stronger and more athletic than most low level girls. Has solid fundamentals to build on, good at cutting off the cage and hitting with straight shots, good in cage clinch too. Seems defensively responsible, paces herself well and wears girls out. Looks like she can go quite far but hasn't fought anyone yet and Argentine prospects have quite often failed when stepping up a level. The eye test tells me this isn't going to happen to her but I've been wrong before.
  25. 24

    Benita van Rooij
    Benita van Rooij
    4-0-0
    1999ish - Netherlands - Levels Fight League

Fighting very low level competition in LFL but she's got decent Dutch style kickboxing offensively with a good high kick. I do think her head movement isn't great and she gets tagged a bit coming in even against cans. Decent double leg and back takes too, seems a well rounded girl but most of her best wins are still her amateur ones so LFL needs to find her a live body to prove herself against and give her a bit of a test before she's ready for Contender Series or anything like that.
  26. 25

    Carol Foro
    Carol Foro
    3-1-0
    Brazil - Jungle Fight

Looks to have a bit of potential. Has solid takedown defence and was shrugging Silva off easily when they fought. Fights out of a karate stance but mainly uses her hands, decent movement and straight punches. Has a lot of pop on her cross. Only loss is to IMMAF champ Consuli up a division by a split, so no shame there.
  27. 26

    Huaxiang "Hua Mulan" Dong
    Huaxiang Dong
    "Hua Mulan"  |  12-2-0
    1998 - China - WLF

Didn't exactly blow me away in first RUFC appearance. Striking pretty low output and doesn't do anything special. Wrestling looked okay but didn't do much damage there either. Majority of her wins in China are against debutants so could well be a bit of a fraud.
  28. 27

    Natalia Alves
    Natalia Alves
    6-0-0
    2000 - Brazil - LFA

Fighting nerds product, not really that impressive for me. Very short for the weight, has to try and hop inside to get past longer girls. Does close distance pretty quickly, has decent wrestling and good quick level changes but would like her to do more with it.
  29. 28

    Mariana "Mari" Piccolo
    Mariana Piccolo
    "Mari"  |  3-2-0
    2002 - Brazil - LFA

Couple of early career losses when very young but seems to be taking it seriously and improving. Looked decent against Mauldin. Long strikes on the feet, fended off takedowns well by pushing down on the head and took the back and got the tap when opponent got too desperate.
  30. 29

    Taylor "Machine Gun" Mauldin
    Taylor Mauldin
    "Machine Gun"  |  4-2-0
    USA - LFA

One dimensional grappler. Has to try and hang off legs and drag people down. Not very athletic so struggles to hold more athletic girls down. Got slept badly by Valesca and then got subbed by a girl who was 2-2 at the time. Laura Gallardo win seems weird in retrospect.
  31. 30

    Ming "Thirteen Sister" Shi
    Ming Shi
    "Thirteen Sister"  |  15-5-0
    1994 - China - WLF

It seems that every time she fights we're going to have to put up with the announcers reminding us she's a doctor every 10 seconds but she's better than I expected from her record, Caught Seo with a good high kick. Grappling is a bit spazzy, doesn't really go for subs in a technically correct manner. Don't see her winning the tournament as there seem to be a few more skilled and more athletic girls than her in it.
  32. 31

    Priya Sharma
    Priya Sharma
    5-2-0
    1991 - India - SFT

Not as bad as I thought she was going to be. Not very good either but solid stance and throwing properly, not very athletic and quite small but was pretty competitive in her Road to UFC loss to Dong and didn't look like she was there as a token Indian fighter or anything.
  33. 32

    Ye Dam Seo
    Ye Dam Seo
    7-4-0
    1992 - South Korea - Naiza FC

Got a lot more aggressive than her very passive fight against Knutsson in her Road to UFC Fight. When she does get aggressive her striking defence is pretty horrible though. Double leg is alrightish. Seems someone at the UFC likes her as she's been invited back to the show twice but based on the evidence so far it's difficult to see her ever being UFC quality.
  34. 33

    Claudia "Cebolinha" Alves
    Claudia Alves
    "Cebolinha"  |  6-6-1
    1991 - Brazil - LFA

Journeywoman who tends to fight top prospects early in their careers on the Brazilian regionals. She's pretty tough and gives them a good workout, short, comes forward and makes girls work. Should lose to girls who are going to be legit though.
  35. 34

    Adriele "Bruta" Castro
    Adriele Castro
    "Bruta"  |  3-2-0
    2001 - Brazil - LFA

Wild looking boxer with very poor takedown defence. I do like her on the feet as she piles forward, she's aggressive and she wants to hurt people. She can maybe be something if she can stay off her back.
